PASTOR

SAM BIEBERT
My wife, Emma, our daughter, Lila, and I moved to Cambridge in August of 2018. We are very excited to be a part of Christ Lutheran Church and its Pre-school.

As a pastor, I know there are a lot of questions out there concerning church. What brings a person to a church? Why enter our doors, one across the road, down the street or that one with family history? Why are beliefs so important and why do so many churches hold to different belief systems? Who is right? Who is wrong? Is there a right or is there a wrong?

I pray that you would give this church the opportunity to talk with you and your family about those very important questions. What you will hear is not religion according to Sam Biebert, my opinions or thoughts. That would only be one sinner telling another sinner how to live their life and there is nothing about me that makes me qualified to do that. Rather, everything must and will come from the Word of God who alone is “The way, the truth and the life.” John 14:6

I have had the priviledge of attending Martin Luther College in New Ulm, MN and Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary in Mequon, WI where for 8 years I got to study the Bible and what it has to say to you, me, and all people. While that education definitely serves me well, it also does not mean I or any Christian ever reaches a point where they know it all, but at the same time, I would love nothing more than to share what God says in his Word as well as grow with you, where ever you may be, in your walk of faith.

PRESCHOOL DIRECTOR

CLISS LOESCHER

Cliss’ teaching experience began in the fall of 1985 when she was assigned to teach grades K-4 at Peace Ev. Lutheran School in Granger, Indiana. She taught there until 2000 before she took a one year leave of absence to teach at Nozomi Lutheran School in Tsuchiura, Japan. After the completion of her year in Japan, she returned to Peace.

In 2001, Cliss left Peace to teach in Beijing, China. She taught middle grades there for three years. In 2005, she returned to the states to start Building Blocks for Life Preschool at Christ Ev. Lutheran Church in Cambridge, Minnesota.

She feels very blessed to have been given the privilege to share the love of Jesus with so many children and adults at home and abroad.

Education:
Cliss received a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Dr. Martin Luther College in 1985. She has completed numerous summer school classes since 1985 to further her understanding of current educational strategies and philosophies.

 PRESCHOOL TEACHER

Megan Mielke

Megan comes to us from Appleton, Wisconsin.  Megan is currently attending Martin Luther College, but is serving this year as an emergency teacher at our preschool.

Megan was born in Maribel, Wisconsin, the youngest of five children.  Her dad is a pastor and served at congregations in Wisconsin and Connecticut.  He currently serves as a Christian Giving Counselor for the Synod and her mom is an administrative assistant.  She attended most of her grade school years at Riverview Lutheran School in Appleton and high school at Fox Valley Lutheran High School in Appleton.

Megan chose to become a teacher because she loves children.  She had a lot of people tell her that she has the personality to be a great teacher.  Since she was the youngest of five, she never had the opportunity to care for her siblings and now she has that opportunity to teach and care for children and she loves it.

Megan met her fiancé, Sam their freshmen year at MLC.  Sam is studying to be a pastor and will graduate from MLC in May 2023.  Megan and Sam will be married July 2023.  Sam will begin at the seminary after Megan graduates from MLC in May 2024.

Megan loves anything music.  She especially loves to sing!  Spending time with family and friends is very valuable to her.  She also loves watching NFL football—a HUGE PACKER FAN!

Megan is looking forward to this school year where she will be able to have a first year teaching experience and will be able to be in control of her own classroom.  She’s looking forward to getting to know her students and looks forward to being able to teach them and care for them.  She is also looking forward to meeting and getting to know our church family.

Megan is very excited for this teaching opportunity and is thankful for the help everyone has already given to her.

We pray that the Lord blesses Megan and the preschool during her service this year.  Please take a few minutes to introduce yourself to Megan and offer your encouragement, support and prayers.
